Could you help SiMY build the relationships and funding that allow young people and their families to thrive?

SiMY creates opportunities for young people and their families to realise their potential and make lasting positive impacts for themselves and their communities.
For more than 26 years, we’ve created Space to Breathe, Room to Grow – giving young people and families opportunities to spend time outdoors, be creative, build supportive relationships and try things they might not otherwise have access to.
Driven by the desires of our participants and the ever increasing body of scientific evidence we focus on time together in nature, to help improve mental and physcial wellbeing, increase confidence, broaden horizons, and reduce social isolation.
We’re now looking for a Fundraising & Partnerships Officer to help us sustain and grow this work.
What will you do?
This is a varied role with a real opportunity to make a difference.
You’ll help SiMY develop strong relationships with funders, partners and supporters, identify new funding opportunities, and write compelling applications that communicate why our work matters and the difference it makes to young people and their families.
You’ll also help us develop our approach to fundraising and partnerships as SiMY grows – looking beyond individual grants to build longer-term relationships and new sources of income.
You won’t be doing this on your own. You’ll work closely with the CEO and Programme Leads, drawing on their knowledge and experience to make sure our fundraising reflects what is actually happening on the ground and what young people, families and communities need.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, organised and a good communicator, who enjoys building relationships and can turn ideas and information into clear, convincing funding applications.
You’ll need experience of fundraising, partnership development or a similar role, but just as importantly, you’ll need to understand that good fundraising starts by being able to tell an honest story about the difference an organisation makes.
You’ll be joining a small, committed team where everyone plays an important part. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, collaborative and happy to get involved.
Why SiMY?
This is an exciting time to join SiMY.
We’ve grown significantly in recent years and are continuing to strengthen the organisation so that we can create more opportunities for young people, support families and build a more sustainable future.
The Fundraising & Partnerships Officer will play an important part in that next stage – helping us develop the relationships and resources that make our work possible.
If you believe young people and their families should have opportunities to connect, spend time outdoors, be creative, develop confidence and skills, and make a positive contribution to their communities, we’d love to hear from you.
